Sustainability

The Öko-Zentrum NRW is a partner for all questions relating to sustainable building. We advise our clients on the definition of their sustainability goals and ensure their implementation in planning and construction. We conduct research on sustainable building on behalf of ministries and authorities and are practice partners in cooperation with colleges and universities.

We offer various services tailored to our customers:

For Municipalities

Sustainable planning and construction is the basis for energy-efficient, ecological and economically successful buildings and quarters; and thus also an important component for cities and municipalities in the implementation of their climate protection initiatives. The Öko-Zentrum NRW supports cities and municipalities in the formulation of their sustainability goals and their implementation in municipal building standards.

For Companies

Together with companies, we implement sustainability goals in new construction and building refurbishment. This results in energy-efficient, ecologically and economically successful buildings that are future-proof and offer a healthy working environment. Sustainability as an integral part of modern planning and construction ensures the holistic quality of a building in its life cycle. By certifying sustainable buildings, we offer additional security for investments through tested quality. Optimal comfort and indoor air quality are made possible by our advice on the selection of building materials and interior qualities and serve to minimise risk.

For Planners

Today, sustainability is a natural part of modern planning and construction. Building owners not only demand energy-efficient buildings, but also expect the holistic quality of a building throughout its life cycle through defined goals and transparent processes. Sustainable planning and construction thus forms the basis for energy-efficient, ecological and economically successful buildings. The Öko-Zentrum NRW supports planners in integrating all sustainability issues into their planning processes.
